To a Child dancing in the Wind
by W.B. Yeats

Dance there upon the shore;
What need have you to care
For wind or water’s roar?
And tumble out your hair
That the salt drops have wet;
Being young you have not known
The fool’s triumph, nor yet
Love lost as soon as won,
Nor the best labourer dead
And all the sheaves to bind.
What need have you to dread
The monstrous crying of wind?

Warm up: Nina Simone “Here comes the sun”
Free dance – move feet, ankles, knees, hips, chest, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands, head

Play: paint to music...it's not about how it looks, it's about how it feels!

Yoga: vajrasana, shashankasana, cat cow, thread the needle, shashankasana, downward dog, striking cobra, pigeon pose, toe balance, roll up, tree pose

Sanskrit Chant:
Om Puurnnam-Adah Puurnnam-Idam Puurnnaat-Purnnam-Udacyate
Puurnnashya Puurnnam-Aadaaya Puurnnam-Eva-Avashissyate ||
Om Shaantih Shaantih Shaantih ||
Meaning:
Aum! That is infinite, and this (universe) is infinite.
The infinite proceeds from the infinite.
(Then) taking the infinitude of the infinite (universe),
It remains as the infinite alone.
Aum! Peace! Peace! Peace!
Relaxation & Visualisation:
Listen to sounds

See yourself in a beautiful peaceful setting.
You are in deep, refreshing meditation.
Now see yourself in relation to others.
Going about your daily business but maintaining that sense of deep relaxation.
See a mirror…one you are familiar with.
See your reflection in the mirror. Clean the mirror. See yourself more clearly.

Homework:
Each day wake with the thought “What am I grateful for today?”
Write it down in your journal before you go to sleep each night.

Music Credits:
Nina Simone “Here Comes the Sun”
Andrew Vasquez & Kevin Locke “Tribal Winds: Music from Native American Flutes”
Secret Garden “Sleepsong”
Joachim Goerke “Hymn to Silence”
